Hitchin is a historic but happening market town, not far from London, Luton and Cambridge. The town is home to progressive entrepreneurship, with a large number of original and successful independent businesses, while the market and individual boutiques thrive alongside high-street favourites and charity shops. Hitchin has a buoyant cultural scene, with music schools, theatres and galleries. There are competitively active clubs for rugby, cricket, football, hockey, cycling and running, as well as a number of gyms and bootcamps. And residents and visitors enjoy an extensive range of excellent pubs, clubs and restaurants.
