NHS 70th birthday celebrations at HPFT

HPFT has marked the 70th birthday of the NHS in style with a celebratory concert from the HPFT Choir & Windrush Walk. Service users, carers, volunteers and staff also be enjoyed cakes and raising a cuppa at tea parties taking place throughout the Trust.

The Windrush Walk is celebrating the diversity and history of NHS workers and honouring the contributions made by people from all around the world to the NHS, past and present. Students will also walked, representing future talent coming into the NHS.

HPFT Chief executive Tom Cahill said: “It’s really exciting that more than ever before, improving mental health services is regarded as a high priority for the NHS. We can draw hope and optimism from our journey so far and from working closely with those who use our services.

“This anniversary is an ideal time to celebrate and take stock of just how much our fantastic NHS is valued. I hope everyone enjoys the events taking place.”
